Texas Disposal Systems provides bulky item pickup for items that don’t fit into your normal container. Instead of going through the process of loading up items and taking them to a landfill, TDS can conveniently pick them up curbside.
You must schedule bulky item pickup in advance by calling TDS Customer Care at (800) 375-8375.
What Can I Include in My Bulky Item Pickup?
A bulky item pickup can include up to three cubic yards of items that are too large to be included in your regular pickup (about the size of three washing machines side-by-side). Bulky items can include items like furniture, appliances with freon removed, drained water heaters, wood without nails, doors, carpet and toilets. Compactible items can also be included in your bulky item pickup.
Additional fees apply for queen-size ($25) and king-size ($50) mattresses/beds. No dead animals.
What are compactible items?
Compactible items include paper, plastic, fabric, and other common household waste items, as well as yard waste. Three cubic yards of compactible waste could include 21 of the following:
- 30-gallon trash bags
- Medium boxes
- Bundles of tree limbs (must be less than 4 feet long and secured with twine, string, or duct tape. Bundles must not weight more than 30 pounds).
TDS will service within limits and guidelines; anything outside of these limits will not be serviced. Please call to schedule bulky pickup or for more details regarding what items can be placed on the curb for collection.
Bulky Items Pickup Guidelines
Bulky items can be placed at your curb. Please ensure bulky items are at least five feet away from obstacles such as mailboxes, cars, tree branches, utility lines and private property. Please ensure you have scheduled your bulky item pickup with our Customer Care team prior to setting your items out for pickup.
- DO keep branches, trunks and brush cut under four feet in length
- DO cut trunks to under 6 inches in diameter
- DO tie branches with twine or string
- DO place brush at least 5 feet away from other objects
- DON'T set out other items for bulk collection like appliances or tires
- DON'T stack brush against fences, homes or vehicles
- DON'T place brush by mailboxes, water meters or low-hanging wires
- DON'T place brush on road or alley ways
