Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) Supports Sustainability Education and Park Stewardship Practices
Austin, TX — January 21, 2026 – Waterloo Greenway Conservancy announced a new partnership with Texas Disposal Systems, Inc., a locally and independently owned solid waste management and recycling company dedicated to customer satisfaction and environmental stewardship. As Waterloo Greenway Conservancy’s Sustainability Partner, Texas Disposal Systems will support the organization’s ongoing sustainability operations and bring enhanced educational programming to downtown Austin’s centrally located Waterloo Park, as well as Waterloo Greenway’s upcoming second phase opening June 6, the Confluence.
Waterloo Greenway Conservancy is recognized for its comprehensive sustainability practices, which include pesticide-free landscape management of over 90,000 native and adapted plants, an innovative water conservation system using reclaimed water and creek-sourced irrigation, and a multi-stream waste diversion program. Through this partnership, Texas Disposal Systems will help expand on the Conservancy’s practices and public-facing sustainability initiatives by providing on-site waste and recycling signage, and education to maximize landfill diversion. Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park is Austin Energy Green Building 4-star certified, reflecting the park’s commitment to sustainable design and operations.

“We are excited to partner with TDS to really highlight our sustainable waste management practices at Waterloo Greenway Conservancy,” said Martin Nembhard, WGC VP of Park Operations. “This partnership is timely as we anticipate even more visibility and public engagement with the Confluence opening later this year.”
The partnership will introduce new educational initiatives throughout Waterloo Park and the Confluence, including bilingual signage on eco-stations with clear icons showing which items belong in trash, recycling, and compost. Texas Disposal Systems will also maintain a presence at Waterloo Greenway Conservancy events, offering interactive educational experiences for visitors of all ages.
“Education is at the core of how lasting environmental change happens,” says Jennifer Dudley, Director of Marketing & Communications at Texas Disposal Systems. “Through this partnership we are excited to bring sustainability education to life in meaningful and hands-on ways, at family-friendly events and throughout everyday interactions in the park. By learning together, we can build habits that protect our shared spaces today and for generations to come.”
This partnership represents a shared commitment to making sustainability accessible and actionable for all park visitors. As Waterloo Greenway continues to serve as a vibrant gathering space in the heart of Austin, the collaboration with Texas Disposal Systems ensures that environmental stewardship remains central to the park experience. Together, Waterloo Greenway Conservancy and Texas Disposal Systems are creating a model for urban green spaces where conservation, education, and community come together.
