The Solid Waste and Recycling Services Provider for the City of Bastrop
Since 2024, Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) has been the contracted provider of waste disposal and recycling curbside collection for the City of Bastrop. As one of the fastest-growing communities in Central Texas, the City of Bastrop continues to attract new residents and businesses while maintaining its unique character and quality of life. Collection Details
Your trash and recycling pickup day occur on the same day of the week.
Trash collection happens every week and recycling collection is every other week. Pickup is limited to your cart only. Recycling collection includes bundled cardboard tied with twine or packing tape, placed outside your cart. No additional bags permitted.
TDS does not accept hazardous materials, non-compactable materials, dirt, concrete or construction materials.
Bulky Collection
City of Bastrop residents receive bulky pickup every week on your trash collection day.
Each collection is limited to the greater of one item or a maximum of four (4) cubic yards per household. Bulky pickup includes materials not easily contained in a bag such as, but not limited to, furniture, carpets and rugs, lawn equipment (drained of oil and gas), large toys, large appliances, and yard trimmings in bags or bundles.
Yard waste must be bundled, tied and cut into four (4) foot lengths with cut ends facing the curb. Limbs must be 6 inches or less in diameter.

Additional carts may be requested through Bastrop Utility Customer Service at (512) 332-8830 and provided at an additional fee.

What Goes Where?
The “What Goes Where” feature allows customers to search for commonly used items to determine which waste stream in the item should be placed in and offers solutions for items that TDS does not accept.
