Trash and Recycling Collection
Your trash and recycling pickup days occur on the same day of the week.
Trash collection is provided every week using your 96-gallon TDS trash cart (black lid). For City of Buda residents, from December 26 through January 7 each year, you may place up to two (2) additional 30-gallon bags of trash outside your cart, with each bag weighing no more than 35 pounds. Additional carts are available upon request by calling the City, for an additional fee.
Recycling collection is provided every other week, alternating with green waste collection, using your 96-gallon TDS recycling cart (tan lid). You may also place one (1) additional bundle of flattened cardboard at the curb. Cardboard should be flattened and bundled securely.
Accepted recycling includes glass bottles and jars, plastics #1-7 (except Styrofoam), aluminum, tin and steel cans, paper products, single bags into bundled multiple plastic bags as part of the “Bag-the-Bag” Program (dry cleaner bags, grocery bags, etc.), gable-top and aseptic containers, large rigid plastics, and household scrap metal.

TDS does not accept hazardous materials or other prohibited materials in your carts. Recycling must be free of trash and other contaminants. Contamination fees may apply if recycling is contaminated or if trash or hazardous materials are placed in the recycling cart.
Green Waste Collection
Effective October 1, 2026, residents have the option to request a 96-gallon TDS green waste cart (green lid) for an additional fee by calling the City at (512) 295-8845. This enhanced option provides a convenient new way to manage yard waste.
Green waste collection is provided every other week, alternating with recycling collection. Residents may use their 96-gallon TDS green waste cart (green lid) or continue to place up to 10 paper lawn bags of leaves or bundles of brush at the curb. Brush must be bundled, tied and cut into lengths no longer than 4 feet, with each bundle weighing no more than 35 pounds. Limbs within each bundle must be no more than 4 inches in diameter.

Bulky Collection
City of Buda residents receive one (1) bulky or brush waste pickup every quarter. Residents must call the TDS Customer Care team at (844) 873-7734 to schedule their pickup.
Each collection is limited to a maximum of three (3) cubic yards per household. Bulky pickup includes materials not easily contained in a cart, such as, but not limited to, furniture, carpets and rugs, lawn equipment (drained of oil and gas), large toys and large appliances. Additional bulky or brush waste collections are available upon request for an additional fee. Mattress collection is also available for an additional fee.
Yard waste must be bundled, tied, and cut into four (4) foot lengths, with each bundle weighing no more than 35 pounds. Limbs within each bundle must be no more than 4 inches in diameter.
Refrigerators and other appliances containing refrigerant require a signed statement confirming that the refrigerant has been removed by a certified refrigeration technician before they can be collected.
As an added service for the City of Buda, residents may take up to five (5) cubic yards of acceptable waste to the landfill in Creedmoor each month, at no cost*. Residents will need to show a utility bill from the City that reflects Solid Waste Services at the gate. *Mattresses are not included. Some restrictions may apply.

What's Accepted?
The “What’s Accepted” feature on the TDS website allows customers to search for commonly used items to determine which waste stream the item should be placed in and offers solutions for items that TDS does not accept.
Service Requests
All service issues and requests can be submitted through the TDS Waste Wizard. When submitting a request, residents can provide comments, their location and contact information, and upload images to help explain the issue. Requests are sent directly to the TDS Customer Care team, who will review and respond in a timely manner.
