Green Builder

 Texas Disposal Systems started its Green Builder Services program in 2003, and expanded its processing operation in 2007.  This program works with local developers and contractors to help those developments seeking a “green” rating achieve their goal.  In order for a development to be certified “green”, it must recycle a minimum of 50% of its construction & demolition waste.  TDS provides all hauling, sorting and reporting services necessary for a development to easily achieve its diversion goals. 

TDS provides boxes for on-site separation, which consists of placing multiple roll off containers at a jobsite to allow contractors to separate their various recyclable materials onsite; or off-site separation where one roll off container is placed on the site and all materials are commingled.  TDS then hauls those materials to our facility where all materials are sorted, weighed and their respective amounts documented. This diversion information can be submitted to Austin Energy Green Building or to US Green Building Council (USGBC) for Austin Energy certification or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, respectively.  Since the program’s inception TDS has diverted thousands of tons of C&D waste from landfill disposal.
