For nearly a decade, Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) has proudly partnered with Fiesta San Antonio, one of the nation’s largest and most iconic cultural celebrations, to keep the event clean, sustainable, and enjoyable for millions of attendees.
Fiesta has always represented community, color, culture, and tradition. TDS celebrates those traditions by reducing waste, promoting recycling, and supporting environmentally responsible event operations across San Antonio.
Championing a New Fiesta Tradition: Recycling
During Fiesta, millions of cans, cups, boxes, and single-use items circulate through events, parades, food booths, and street fairs. The opportunity for meaningful waste reduction is huge, and TDS is leading the movement.
Our message to Fiesta-goers is simple and memorable:
“It’s not trash unless you trash it.”
To make recycling easier, more accessible, and more rewarding, TDS implements community-focused initiatives across the entire celebration, including:
Street-Team Recycling Bag Distribution
Our team members distribute recyclable paper bags along major parade routes, helping attendees collect and recycle their items throughout the day.
On-Site Recycling & Collection
Recyclables collected at Fiesta events are transported to the TDS Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), where they are processed and diverted from the landfill.
These combined efforts empower Fiesta attendees to turn small everyday actions into a major positive environmental impact.
Supporting Sustainability Beyond Waste
TDS doesn’t stop at recycling. We support Fiesta with sustainable solutions that make celebrations cleaner, safer, and more sustainable including portable restrooms and temporary fencing.
Portable Restrooms
At large events, including the Market Square, King William Fair, NIOSA, and more, TDS provides portable restrooms featuring:
- Low-flush systems that dramatically reduce water usage
- Natural deodorizers that eliminate the need for harsh chemicals
- Eco-conscious designs that support both attendee comfort and environmental protection
Temporary Fencing
Our temporary fencing helps keep large events including Fiesta de los Reyes and Battle of Flowers Parade organized and safe. Our modular temporary fence panels can be delivered on-site and are set up by our experienced staff.
Portable Hand-Washing Stations
Hygiene and sanitation are at the forefront of health and safety standards, especially for public events. That’s why we provide our portable hand-washing stations to various events throughout the Fiesta celebration. With prompt delivery, set up and pick up, our hand-washing stations are available in a uniform style with foot-operated pumps and water dispensing faucets. They are also very easy to relocate based on foot traffic and come as either 2-sink or 4-sink options with a paper towel holder and soap dispenser.
