Walter Black serves as Director of Safety & Security. Walter is responsible for all areas of occupational, industrial, and environmental safety throughout Texas Disposal. Walter is responsible for effective and continuous development of workplace safety programs, procedures, and culture. Overseeing and enforcing regulatory compliance of federal, state, and local safety laws; specifically, in the areas of OSHA and DOT regulations.
Walter has more than 20 years of experience in multiple facets of the transportation industry. He has primarily managed the compliance of safety and loss control programs. Prior to joining TDS, he has served in leadership roles for some of the industry’s largest, well known over-the-road carriers, as National Safety and Fleet Director, Safety Director, Regional Director, Operations/Fleet Director and Terminal Manager.
Walter is a Certified Fleet Safety Director (CFS), and Specialist in Safety & Health (SSH) from the University of Texas at Arlington.
