Exotic Game Ranch![]() {Not a Longhorn} Rowdy is an African White Rhinoceros, not a Longhorn. But he lives a very sustainable life amidst Texas longhorns, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas and hundreds of other African, Asian, European, Middle Eastern, and American animal species at the TDS Exotic Game Savanna on the outskirts of Austin. You can see Rowdy and friends on our website. He’s living proof of our Responsible Resource Management mission that we envisioned when we founded TDS 35 years ago. And while he’s no Longhorn, Rowdy could certainly give Bevo a few pointers on body armor! Texas Disposal Systems is a family-owned, family operated company that has developed what may be the most unique integrated landfill, composting, recycling, and repurposing facility in the world. In fact, the letters TDS could just as easily stand for Texans Deserve Sustainability. In the months and years ahead, you’ll be hearing more from the company that’s giving responsible Resource Management the local, regional, national, and international focus it deserves. Hook ‘em, Rowdy!
![]() TDS Exotic Game Ranch and Pavilion Complex The Texas Disposal Systems Exotic Game Ranch and Pavilion is used as a working ranch and invited guest entertainment facility operation. The ranch land is comprised of land that is under permit for future landfill expansion and a portion of the buffer zone next to the landfill and compost operations. Cattle and other animals are raised and sold. The wildlife reserve is used primarily for animal production and sale to other ranches as well as endangered species conservation. Inside the TDS facility, the exotic game ranch is complete with approximately 1175 acres that is home to more than 2,000 animals from over 100 different species. Most of these animals are not indigenous to Texas or even North America. Our wildlife ranch consists of many foreign inhabitants from six of the seven continents, including species from Africa, Asia Minor, Australia, England, Israel, India, Middle East, and Pakistan. At the TDS Pavilion qualified non-profit organizations are invited to host their fundraisers in a 12,000 square foot enclosed building, free of charge. Each year our beautiful facility serves about 15,000 people who attend events and private tours. In 2011, approximately 114 events were hosted at the Pavilion, with over 12,000 people in attendance. See the list of non-profit groups hosted in 2011 here. TDS believes strongly in giving back to the community and have focused efforts on helping qualified non-profit organizations raise funds, recognizing worthy citizens, and provide educational opportunities for qualified groups. In 2011, over $820,000 was raised for non-profit groups. Click here to see a list of animals currently flourishing at the facility. Scroll through the list to take a walk on the wild side!
